Vianočka/Christmas bread

Vianočka is a type of sweet pastry made from leavened dough, which is very popular in Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Austria and Germany, where it is a traditional Christmas pastry. Christmas cake, or "calta" or "húska", became an integral part of the Christmas dinner already in the Middle Ages.

Ingredients:

  • 70 g sugar
  • 9 g salt
  • 100 g butter
  • 60 g chicken eggs, whole
  • 600 g wheat flour, type 550
  • 40 g chicken eggs, yolk
  • 250 g Milk, 2.0% fat
  • 20 g Yeast baker's, compressed

Method of cooking:

  1. Add 250 g of milk, 20 g of yeast and 70 g of sugar. Heat for 1 min at 40°C.
