Farikal

Traditional Norwegian dish, especially appreciated in early autumn. Farikal is the national dish of this country. It consists of slowly cooked lamb or mutton, cabbage, and whole black peppercorns. Despite its simplicity, the dish is hearty, nourishing, and full of flavor.

Ingredients:

  • 800 g water
  • 4 g ground black pepper
  • 18 g salt
  • 800 g Cabbage, white
  • 800 g medium potatoes
  • 1000 g lamb

Method of cooking:

  1. Place a bowl on the lid of the mixing bowl. Weigh 1000 grams of boneless lamb shoulder or leg cut into large 3 cm cubes. Set the bowl aside.
