Rørte tyttebær - Norwegian Cranberries
Rørte tyttebær is a traditional Norwegian delicacy that consists of so-called Norwegian cranberries (tyttebær/lingonberries) mixed with sugar and gently ground into a mass. It is a simple but exceptionally tasty addition to various dishes, especially meat, such as venison, or as an ingredient in desserts. Preparing rørte tyttebær is quick and involves mixing fresh or frozen fruit with sugar, and then gently crushing them, which allows the natural taste of the fruit to be brought out. This delicacy is characterized by an intense, sour taste with subtle sweetness.
